Confidential Information

The student will learn throughout the program that information obtained about patients is confidential. This confidential information includes patient records, photos, and videos. The student has both a moral and legal obligation to share this information only with other personnel who are caring for the patient. The student may have occasion to read a patient's past medical record. Copies cannot be made of any part of the patient's medical record. Availability of this department may vary from agency to agency. Any student who violates confidentiality will be subject to probation or dismissal. A confidentiality statement will be signed and placed in the student's file.
