Moberly Area Community College Policy Handbook 2026-2027

Moberly Area Community College will adhere to the requirements of the Jeanne Clery Act regarding the issuance of timely warnings and emergency notifications. These notifications will concern crimes reported to MACC Security or local law enforcement agencies that MACC deems to pose a serious or ongoing threat to students and employees. MACC will provide notifications via Hound Alerts, MACC website, MACC email, and LMS messages
Timely Warning
Purpose: To alert the campus community about certain Clery Act crimes that pose a serious or continuing threat to students and employees.
Examples: Robbery, aggravated assault, sexual assault, burglary, etc.
Timing: Must be issued as soon as the pertinent information is available.
Audience: The entire campus community.
Content: Includes enough information to help people protect themselves.
Emergency Notification
Purpose: To inform the campus community about significant emergencies or dangerous situations that involve an immediate threat to health or safety.
Examples: Active shooter, bomb threat, gas leak, severe weather.
Timing: Must be issued immediately upon confirmation of a significant emergency.
Audience: The entire campus or only the affected segment of the campus community.
Content: Includes information about the nature of the emergency and actions to take.
