Moberly Area Community College Surgical Technology Handbook 2026-2027

Readmission

Students who drop or are dismissed from the surgical technology program because of a failure in a surgical technology course must submit a written request for readmission to the Program Director. The request will be evaluated by the Director based on the recommendations from the admissions committee and probability of success. Students who fail or drop from the Introduction to Surgical Technology course will follow the general admission process (through the Admissions Committee).

Criteria for Readmission
Students who receive a grade of less than 78% in two (2) surgical technology courses or in the same course two (2) times will be dismissed from the program without consideration for readmission. Students receiving a grade below "C" (78%) in a surgical technology (SRG) course may, after readmission is approved, repeat that course one time. Failure to achieve a grade of "C" (78%) the second time will result in dismissal from the program without consideration for readmission.

Students who fail or withdraw from any semester will be required to repeat that semester including classes previously passed. Students who fail or withdraw from the first semester of surgical technology courses must begin the initial admission process through application. A student seeking readmission after being out of the program for two (2) years must re-apply as a new student.

All students must submit a written request for readmission to the Program Director. The request will be evaluated by the Admissions Committee based on the recommendations from faculty and the probability of success.

Students seeking readmission to the second or third semester of the Surgical Technology program must pass with a 78% a comprehensive final from all previously completed courses for semesters successfully completed.
